So much is going on as we head into the final months of the year. October was a beautiful month, with the weather hanging on to the summer each chance it got. But now it's time to start preparing for the rush of November and December. And for me, this holiday season has my schedule looking a little different. The biggest change is that I won't be starting November off with a show, but with a sewing class.
Two sewing classes, in fact. I'm so excited to finally announce the details of these workshops. I've been thinking about them for months and planning for weeks. They are both in collaboration with the wonderful Jenny Goe, from In the 216 Shop. She has opened up a work space at her Clifton location for the classes.
Both classes are geared towards people who have sewing machines they can bring with them. They are both on November 5, and cost $40.
The first class is the Beginners Sewing Workshop. In this workshop we'll focus on sewing machine basics. We’ll cover the important parts of the machine, practice stitching and end with making a simple cotton tote. You can read more details about the class, and register your spot by visiting the Facebook event page or the Eventbrite page.
The second class is the Zipper Sewing Workshop. This is for sewers with a bit more experience, who are already familiar with their machines. It is a class all about sewing zippers - a technique that intimidates many sewers. You can find more details about the class and register for it at the Facebook event page or the Eventbrite page.
I'm so excited to finally be teaching sewing classes. It's been something I've been thinking about for a long while. Space is limited though, so if you're planning on attending, make sure you register. I hope to see you there!
