You may have noticed that I've been a little quiet lately. June flew by, even though I didn't have any summer shows on my schedule. The first half of the month saw lots of Pat Catan's trips and craft nights as I helped my sister get ready for her wedding. (It turned out beautifully, of course!) The second half of the month saw furious sewing as my first four day show of the year was suddenly looming much closer. But I've made some seriously cute things over the last couple weeks. I'm going to share a peek with you and also let you know where I'll be setting up shop for the rest of the summer so you can see everything in person!
I've just made a new batch of Zippered Cross Body Bags and Modern Messenger Bags that use colors and prints I've never worked with in these styles before. They're fun and functional, the best of all worlds. I'm hoping to get them listed in the online shop as soon as possible.
Thursday - Saturday 10am - 8pm; Sunday 11am - 4pm
State College, PA
In its 52nd year, Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts is a staple of the State College area. 300 artists are spread through the streets of the Penn State campus and surrounding areas. From painting to woodworking to ceramics and of course fiber there will be beautiful work of all kinds.
Saturday 10am - 6pm
Lakewood Arts Festival is one of my favorite shows of the years. And not just because it's right down the street from me. From their famous 4th of July fireworks to Christmas tree lighting, Lakewood is a community that likes to gather. The Arts Festival brings a different vibe to the downtown, filling the streets with beautiful handcrafted work. Plus there's plenty of grab places to grab a bite and a beer after shopping works up an appetite!
Friday, 3 - 8pm; Saturday, 10am - 7pm; Sunday, 10am - 4pm
Salt Fork is a new show for me, but not at all a new show. In its 49th year, Salt Fork will be a weekend full of art, live music, food and more. I'm excited to be checking out this long running show.
Sunday, 10am - 5pm
The Berea Arts Fest is another new one for me. I've heard great things about it from artists and shoppers both. A single day show, the Berea Arts Fest has been taking place the second Sunday every August for 28 years. Around a hundred artists and makers will be selling their work, along with food and music and more!
Thursday - Saturday, 10am - 5pm; Sunday, 10am - 4pm
This will be my third time at Ohio Mart, and it's hands down one of the most beautiful locations I go to every year. Big gardens of blooming flowers, brick walk ways overhung with trees, grape arbors, and of course the Stan Hywet mansion itself. Ohio Mart fills this stunning space with talented artists and makers. There's also hot apple cider, donuts, raffles and more. A perfect fall event.
Sunday 2 - 4pm
Cleveland Heights, OH
And one more thing before you go...I've got another sewing class coming up this month! Wee! This will be my second class at Studio How-To, which is located on Coventry. It's such a warm and inviting space, I can't wait to teach a whole new group of students how to get sewing. Studio How-To also has 4 sewing machines available if you don't have your own. They are first come, first serve. And the class is limited in size to just 6 though, so make sure you register your spot (and your machine if need be)!
