We’re heading quickly into the end of June, but there’s still plenty left happening in the city of Cleveland. This coming weekend, I’ve got two fun events to tell you about.
Night markets are regular part of life in Asia. The all-night events are more like a party than a traditional, during-the-day market. There is exotic food, live music, and abundant vendors of all kinds. Building on this tradition, night markets are growing all across the U.S.. From Pasadena to Philadelphia, markets are being started not just to celebrate Asian cultural roots, but also the contemporary atmosphere of each city.
This summer Cleveland is getting its very own night market. Taking place in the heart of Cleveland’s Asia Town, Night Market CLE will have specially made roving food carts, live music playing, vendors selling locally made goods, and plenty more. The first market will take place this Friday, June 26th from 5pm to 11pm at the intersection of Rockwell Avenue and E. 21st Street. And I’ll be bringing a new, very limited edition tote for the market. (Keep an eye on my Instagram this week to get some sneak peeks.) Come start your weekend off with a new and exciting night market vibe.
The last event of June is a simple, easy going and fun affair in Lakewood. This year the city of Lakewood is planning a citywide street sale. From Thursday through Sunday, there’ll be residential garage sales and store front side walk sales all across the city.
The lovely Erika, from Erika Originals, has recently opened her very own shop in Lakewood called The Modern Bohemian. In it she’s got a beautiful collection of her work, as well as some featured local vendors. But to celebrate the Lakewood Street Sale, Erika will be hosting a different local artist on her shop sidewalk each day. I’ll be there on Saturday from 11am - 5pm with a table of goodies. Explore Lakewood for the day, or spend the whole weekend roaming the street in search of great finds, either way, make sure you stop by Saturday to say hi!
